Blackberry Mojito

Categories : Recipe and Story Blog

What says “Summer” more than a tall, cold Blackberry mojito with fresh mint and juicy blackberries? NOTHING that’s what. There’s something about this fresh drink that makes me feel like I’m on a permanent vacation.

Summer time fun with the best of friends.

I love mojitos. I love fresh mint and fresh berries. I guess the Amish in me grew up drinking fresh garden tea and this adult drink has me reminiscing about those long-ago memories and yearning that summer nights have no end. I have always been the type of person that needs MORE. More berries. More mint. That did not change when my husband and I were trying to make this delicious mojito.

Blackberry Mojito Recipe

  • 6 blackberries
  • 7-9 mint leaves
  • 1 oz. simple syrup
  • 1/2 oz. lime juice
  • Ice, crushed
  • 2 oz. white rum
  • 2 oz. club soda

                       ~Makes 1 Mojito~

  1. In a shaker, mix together blackberries, mint leaves, simple syrup, and lime juice. Pulverize. We just used what we had; a wooden spoon from Pampered Chef). Add white rum and crushed ice to the shaker. Shake it up for 15 seconds or so!
  2. Add in club soda and give it a quick stir.
  3. Pour contents into a glass and garnish with mint leaves and extra blackberries.

P.S. The blackberries can make a mess and stain, so watch out for that. Otherwise, enjoy this fresh, fruity drink.

There’s just something about fresh mint and berries that screams SUMMER!
